Terrible. Will not answer the phone in the vehicle division when you call with an issue (rings until it goes busy), or when they finally do answer, you get placed on eternal hold and no one ever comes to the phone. Also does not reply or acknowledge messages sent through their webpage.

My vehicle registration comes due in December and because of the holidays I’m usually the 1st week of January to get in there. I had to go 3 separate times this year with them being closed. I even tried to go online and it said it couldn’t find me. I asked them to try to make my renewal in September they might be open some in September I would hope but said they have a new system and can’t get it changed right now. Had to wait at least 30 minutes.

Most people think of this office only for car tags and registration, but it’s important to know that the Pike County Clerk is an elected constitutional officer responsible for much more. Under Kentucky law (KRS 67.100), the Clerk is required to maintain the permanent records of the Pike County Fiscal Court – not just vehicle paperwork. When citizens ask to see fiscal court minutes or other county records, those are supposed to be available here, in this office. That’s the people’s right under the Kentucky Open Records Act (KRS 61.872). Reviews shouldn’t just be about long lines or unanswered phones. They should also reflect whether the Clerk is fulfilling his duty to safeguard and provide access to public records for Pike County citizens.

Says they close at 4:30 online but good luck getting in the court house after 4pm. They sure are putting our tax dollars towards a good use with them leaving early every day. Don’t they understand people rely on their posted hours being accurate, especially since it’s near impossible to get someone on the phone.
