Erica is very helpful, calm under pressure and a pleasure to deal with.

Very personal and competent. Still isolated behind bullet proof glass, but they are nice. Dealing with govt is usually a pain, but this the least painful.

I live here so I'm kind of biased. This town reminds me of the small town that I grew up in, in New Jersey, so I feel an affinity to this town. The reasons I do not give the town I live in five stars are the high property taxes, it turns into a ghost town after 8 in the evening, and if you want to go to a decent priced grocery store, you have to travel to Concord, Northwood, Alton, or Tilton. The only grocery store in town is very overpriced. Other than that, Pittsfield does have an actual downtown section, unlike a lot of small towns in New Hampshire. The downtown area has a Rite Aid, a Family Dollar, the overpriced grocery store I mentioned above, two laundromats, at least two service garages, a gas station/convenience store, two pizza/sub shops, a Chinese restaurant, a lunch and dinner sit-down restaurant, good schools, and a number of churches for different denominations, the town pool which is a natural water swimming hole with a little beach, picnic area, and diving board, Floral Park Cemetery and a historical walking "trail" which gives a unique way to explore the history of the town. Although not downtown, there is a Catholic Cemetery on Norris Road, Mount Calvary Cemetery. It also has Sargent Town Forest on SR 107 which is only on 5 acres, but the trails are hilly so you can get a decent workout in there. There are also a number of industries in town, including Globe Manufacturing which is a major employer in the area. The drawback to living here, or even starting a business here is extremely high property tax. And from what I understand from talking to people at Town Hall, the reason the property taxes are so high is because of the schools in town.

Always helpful when need to get things registered or copies of paperwork. Only thing that disappoints me is it was extremely difficult to get any sort of financial aid or help when we were struggling as a family, and we were basically always denied any at all. I was given two fuel vouchers for gas for my car once, that's about it and I grew up in this town.
