I drove from Dallas to Austin to obtain a death certificate, and unfortunately, my experience with the staff was very disappointing. The supervisor Beatriz was extremely unprofessional and rude. When I greeted her with a simple “hello,” she looked at me and said, “I don’t need to speak with you, go sit down over there.” My husband was the one handling the paperwork, but that’s no reason to dismiss common courtesy. This kind of behavior is unacceptable—especially in a place where people come while grieving the loss of loved ones. Many visitors, like the woman sitting next to me who had just lost her father three days ago, are already going through a difficult time. Staff in these roles should show empathy and professionalism, not hostility. People deserve to be treated with respect, particularly in such sensitive circumstances.

The place to go to immediately get birth or death certificates for Austinites or other Texans. Warned it can take 20 minutes, but much shorter on my visit in the middle of the afternoon. Friendly, accommodating staff, and easy location to navigate (small).

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Austin office of the vital Records Registration Center for delivering exceptional, unmatched public service with remarkable professionalism and efficiency. Today 3rd Jun 25, we went to get my grandson’s birth certificate and observed your services, staff Cate took hardly 5 minutes for completion of service with a smiling face. Your dedication to maintaining accurate and timely records of life’s most important events births and deaths has been truly commendable. From your courteous and well-organized approach to the use of modern, citizen-friendly systems, every aspect of your service reflects integrity, compassion and excellence. The staff’s helpful attitude, especially toward the elderly, mothers with infants and those in need of assistance, highlights a deep commitment to inclusivity and public welfare. Your ability to blend efficiency with empathy and technology with a human touch, sets you apart as a model for all public service institutions. The lady at the front didn't have compassion towards my client who lost everything. Saying he still needs to get Texas id, birth certificate, And or social security card. Can you call your dad even though he has memory loss to order you a social security card? Her name started with a N she has long hair with glasses. Someone in the back of her said well if he doesn't have anything she didn't want to help us. Well she was rude. Clearly says he should get birth certificate first. She was rude. She could have asked her boss to override it. Things can be done. Have a blessed day.
