A town that is out for every penny of your money for their new town hall building, yet you still have to haul your own trash. Beware if you have pets, if you don’t pay your pet taxes, you will be subpoenaed to appear before the magistrate. Live Free or Die has little meaning in the Tax Loving town. Barrington Middle is on the decline anyways. Take your money and your kids and seek residency elsewhere, unless you enjoy paying 6000 dollars a year in property taxes to haul your own trash in addition to the trash bag tax you’re forced to purchase to dispose of said trash. The racketeering in this town is criminal, and don’t say anything “naughty” or out of order from the party line, or your property tax will increase during the next assessment. They should change the name of the town to Taxington.

I would give them negative stars If I could. Attitude at the registry is bad. Wife and I applied for a building permit. They filled out the paperwork wrong. We have been paying extra for property taxes for the past two years because they failed to update our land lines before we even got the house. Also trying to get my property tax corrected in their system ans it is a nightmare as well.

Staff is always friendly and very helpful. The new building and location are very orderly and clean, with ample parking. Just be aware that they are not open on Fridays.

Just moved out of state, and I have tried for an entire day to reach the office by phone. To be unsuccessful for an entire 8 hour day (calling every 20 min) is a little extreme. And yet, I'm forced to keep trying! The automated system does not allow for leaving messages. Additionally, nobody has responded to my "contact us" email. This was days ago. Will I be forced to drive 8 hours, just to talk to a person? The town has never failed to collect my taxes. They sure can whiff on picking up the phone, though.

Good location. I prefer it to the former one that was up the hill.
