I lost/misplaced my birth certificate and needed it ASAP to get my real driver license so I can fly out for vacation in two weeks. But I live 7 hours from my hometown (Elmira) and Chemung Vital Statistics office. I called Vital Statistics main head quarters in Albany, NY, They said it would take 6 months to get my birth certificate if I did it by phone, online or fax or I can drive to my home town Vital statistics and pick it up there the same day, but didn't want to drive 7 hours back home. So I called Vital statistics of Chemung and talked with a young lady (Amy) and she was very helpful and pleasant, and got my birth certificate out the same day and saved my vacation!
