I just had the best experience submitting my US passport application at the Dare County Register of Deeds. I called and got a friendly county worker who confirmed what I needed, I went across the street to CVS first and got my photos taken and then went to the Register of Deeds office. Currently, no appointment was necessary, but I wouldn’t be surprised when the word gets out that they are providing this service that you will start needing an appointment. Definitely, a complete contrast to Kitty Hawk post office whose website says they take walk-ins on MWF from 1000-1100, but even though he acknowledged it was on the website and with nobody but me in the whole post office, said he didn’t have time to do it. Thank you Dare County!
