Very friendly place. The Clerk of Courts office took care of our updated passport needs, and the clerk was extremely friendly and helpful. It is so nice that the Glascock County Magistrate Court accepts passport applications on a walk-in basis.

Established by the 1983 Georgia Constitution, the Glascock County Magistrate Court—often called the "People's Court"—continues a judicial tradition in Gibson dating back to 1857. The county seat was named for Judge William Gibson, a Confederate veteran who funded the original 1858 public buildings. While the current courthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, the original 1858 wooden structure remains standing as a private residence.
