Had no information on being closed other than a piece of paper taped to the door, we went to get our marriage license and it was closed due to a stupid festival. Wasted so much time and a day off work thanks to them.

Could not get an answer. Called and no one picked up. With the weather, I was calling to inform that I had no way to make it to Greenfield, but apparently there is no one in the office.

Getting the marriage certificate was super easy and the women who helped us were fantastic. However, we initially were trying to schedule a ceremony with whoever their officiant was. I guess its the clerk herself. Lisa? Don't know if she actually works. Never returned any of my phonecalls or emails. Which were multiple. If you plan on trying to marry at the courthouse, it ain't happening. You'd have better luck having your neighbor getting ordained online, then officiating your marriage the same day.

Ashley at the county clerk’s office assisted in correcting our marriage license errors and made sure to process it and hand us the formalized documents immediately! Wow! Additionally, the security sheriff, Tracy was both kind and welcoming upon entry screening and humorous! Thanks for the excellent service, attention to detail, and example of humanity in Hancock County.

Paid a traffic ticket over the weekend for this county and Marion County. Asked if they could fax over the official receipt to the state of Ohio like normal. Marion does it and it was received by Ohio in less than an hour, while the people here at Hancock says I have to wait 2weeks for them to send a fax. She Claimed, “we have to process the payment and it could take two weeks.” I asked in return, does it show I have a balance, she replies, “no we see that you paid, but we’re still processing the payment” 😂😂😂 just say it’s Monday and you don’t feel like working. Marion County did it with no hassle, I see why the reviews are what they are. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! Real time wasters, two weeks to send a fax 🚮 Update 1/13/26: Marion County sent the paperwork in and it’s already off my license. Now I’m being held hostage by the women who won’t try to send a fax
