Terrible experience trying to get a marriage license. It took two years and there is only one person that can perform the ceremony as a justice of the peace. We tried to do it one year and Robin said it was hard to “coordinate a time to get married with her schedule during an election year“, still unclear on what that actually means. The next year was easier but she only works part time and had very odd hours available. When you initiate a marriage license with the town you have to pay $30 for an application. Since Robin delayed us a year we had to pay again the next year another $30. For the actual marriage license it was $100 under the table to her which was sketchy and not very reputable as it should have gone to the town. The ceremony was awful and very hastened on her part. $100 for 2 min, I think the town can do better with this service.

Walking in here was one of my favorite parts of our visit to Marblehead. The lady that greeted us and toured us through some paintings was so sweet and knowledgeable!! You could tell she was very passionate about Marblehead and American history in general. Even if it’s for a quick 15 minutes (although you could easily stay longer) I’d recommend stopping in!
