Great place to visit. Two early stalwarts of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints were born here Newell K Whitney and Newell Knight in 1795 and 1805. They missed the wonderful church but the Whetstone Inn would have been there at the time. Their church burned down to be replace by the current church after they left. However remains of the destroyed church were used for the town building.
