Please do not provide misleading operating hours. Google lists the Delaware Division of Public Health, Newark location as open today (12/26/2025) from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, yet the office was closed. I drove nearly 100 miles and spent almost two hours each way based on this information. This level of inconvenience is unacceptable and shows a lack of consideration for the public. Accurate communication of office hours is essential. I request immediate correction of this issue and expect more accountability and empathy toward the people you serve.

What a great transfer of wealth it would be if this Office would be kind enough to help people by releasing peoples family papers, stop holding these historical documents hostage and to tell people the facts and not some made up fantasy and please don't give customers your unsolicited personal opinions. Instead, I was told by the Receptionist that my family probably, was not my family because 'people can lie at funerals'. I guess they should know about lying...🤥. They never helped me or the other 10 old-timers waiting, I guess she thought we were all just wasting our time telling lies. The Office is located in University Plaza all the way in the back. Perhaps, they should consider hiring a few neutral-minded people who don't come from Delaware and whom have no time to judge others based upon the slavery that took place in Delaware hundreds of years ago.

I was in and out to pick up my certificates. The staff member was so kind. The inside was so good. It was clean, well organized and well maintained

Rude, unprofessional and unkind. Staff rarely answers the phone, and on the rare occasion they do, they will hang up on you. There's zero help and no communication in person, as well. It's an all around disturbing experience and truly disheartening to be treated so poorly. I have visited this office multiple times and still don't have the documents requested. Why? Simply because they explain nothing. This should have been handled in 1 visit. Instead of answering the phone and telling people what's needed the FIRST time around, they make people drive to the office to be turned away due to insufficient documents. I had my license, passport, birth certificate, etc and still denied my father's death certificate because I must prove I'm his daughter? Has anyone cared to read the poor reviews? What an embarrassment to the state of Delaware.

All you gotta do is call and you can see why they got the reviews they have. They act like they hate the job that THEY SIGNED UP FOR. And the public gotta deal with the backlash of people who clearly hates their lives and line of work. Paid 57 dollars for a death certificate to be expedited to be met with dismissive attitude and arrogance. I will be reporting the employees that disconnected me TWICE & I hope the same issue that I’m facing hits yall close enough to home that maybe yall could show others a little EMPATHY! Have the day yall deserve.
