Google says this location is open until 5 pm. Sent here by my doctor, drove 30 min in traffic and walked in at 2:30. The nurse said they were closed (2 1/2 hours early) and she sent me to the one on Central. That one doesn't even open on Fridays. 😒

I haven't had too much to do with the Florida Department of Health in Orange County other than a couple follow up phone calls after an opossum died in my yard (and a subsequent precautionary quarantine for my dogs). I spoke with Cynthia on the phone those two times and both times she was very friendly and informative.

I called ahead to confirm they accept walk-ins and if they address IUD issues. I was told walk-ins are welcome on Mondays and Wednesdays, and that family planning would assist with IUD concerns. When I arrived, the receptionist seemed confused by my issue and had to ask a second receptionist for clarification. Despite being told on the phone that walk-ins are accepted, I was informed that they don’t take walk-ins on Mondays after all. I was then told I didn’t qualify for the sliding scale because I’ll have insurance in January, even though I’m currently uninsured. It was frustrating to be turned away when I would have qualified for sliding scale pricing if they had processed my eligibility correctly. I’m also disappointed by the lack of basic knowledge about birth control among the staff at an OB/GYN clinic. Overall, a very unprofessional and disappointing experience.

This is not the Orlando Orange County Department of health. I repeat this is not he Orlando Orange County Department of health. They are a third party medical service system that can not help until your qualifying insurance has listed them as a primary doctor. Then they will over bill your insurance company. They advertise that they are the department of health but they are not. Do not go here it's a scam.
