Very considerate and helpful. I actually feel sorry for them for having to deal with the entitled population of Aspen. These people are public servants and by all accounts are pleasant and helpful. It's too bad that many of the people that have recently moved here feel that the world revolves around them and consider these folks their personal slaves.

I've had to chase down some difficult things with car registrations and transferring title from one state to another. On both occasions they were incredibly helpful and friendly and even reminded me that I could receive the pro-rated taxes I'd paid on the vehicle I had sold. They do not have a large staff for the responsibilities they have, it is not just motor vehicles. It's in the name, "Clerk and Recorder," not department of car registration. The people you see working maintain the property ownership records for the County, deal with the Board of County Commissioner records, state licenses and marriage licenses. They will also help you to record real estate records if you need to do so. Give them a break, they do an important job.

Having lived in other places like NYC I'm so grateful for the people who work at Pitkin County Motor Vehicles. Things that would take an entire day or more of navigating painful bureaucracy in other cities can get done here in ten minutes and with a smile.

Every time I've been here they have been knowledgeable and incredibly helpful with getting new vehicles registered.

Obtaining the title and registration was a quick and easy process. It only took 40 minutes without an appointment.
