Need to train your front staff properly on how to read a shot record. Relocated from Virginia, enrolled my son into the Middle school in Cedartown and was told by the school that I had to have his shot records transferred to a Georgia shot record (didn’t really understand why because its a standard immunization shot record from a military base). Went to the Cedartown Health Department (CHD) to have this done, no problems so far. Got a call from the CHD that the documents were ready. When I arrived the young lady that initially helped me was busy so, another older Hispanic lady helped me. She looked at my son’s new record and asked in her broken English “how old is your son?”, I told her. She then looks at his new transcribed immunization records and says “he needs a meningitis shot, when do you want to set up an appointment for that”. With a puzzled look on my face I said “I don’t, his shot records are up to date”. She continues saying “he needs the meningitis shot, you can’t register him in school without it” “are you from out of state?” I sad “we are from Virginia why?” The lady then says, “some states are different and don’t require this shot, but here we do, when do you want to schedule an appointment?” I again said “I don’t, can I have my documents!” As she handed me the records she again said “he can’t register for school without the shot”, I said “ok, I understand, now can I get the original documents that I left with you?” ... proper training can reduce this sort of misguided mishap. To be fair, the younger lady did the transferring of the shots not the older one, but still there needs to be some type of checks and balances here. Get you sh!$ together Cedartown Health Department!!!!

They no longer allow appointments for things such as birth control, and other women's health services. They also frequently lack a nurse who can provide these services, as they only have one Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and still on those days the nurse(s) isn't there. Some people rely on the services they provide to live a normal life (such as birth control that help relieve womens reproductive health issues, like endometriosis)

another healthcare provider requested my records from Polk county and that is how I found out I had an irregular test result.. 2 YEARS LATER. Don't work in healthcare if you have no intention on providing care to patients.

Got my first Covid vaccine at PCHD this week. Very professional operation and super nice people. Waiting time was only about 20 minutes for my appointment. The nurse who gave me the injection was a real pro...it was painless. No side effects either with the Moderna Vaccine.
