The Spanish-speaking staff can be very unpleasant, especially toward people they think don’t speak English. They’re often rude and act confused even when you’re being clear. Simple tasks like making or canceling an appointment become frustrating, and they make you feel like you're a burden for asking.

HORRIBLE!!! If zero stars were available, that is what I would give. Called from a provider's office to find out when a vaccine was given. The lady asked if I had checked IRIS and I said yes and it wasn't in there. She did not believe me and checked herself. Then when I asked for the date she said she was putting it in IRIS now and I could get it from IRIS. She wouldn't even give me the date when I stated the patient was in the office. Very rude and unprofessional especially when the information wasn't put into IRIS by them to begin with when they administered the vaccine. Very poor customer service!!!!

This is the only place currently doing updated bivalent COVID vaccines for 0.5 to 5 year old in the Des Moines area. None of the pharmacies or hospitals are doing it, which almost created a problem for my baby’s 4-8 weeks window for the second shot. Booking was super easy through the website listed and getting the shot was even easier. Checked in a little before the scheduled time, waited like 5 minutes, and took another 2 minutes to get the shot. The experience was better than the adult COVID shots at a pharmacy. Extremely grateful that Polk County Health Department is carrying out the mission of providing public health to the community when the healthcare system is failing. The facility is extremely easy to access from the freeway, but the building is easy to miss given how plain it looks on the outside. The waiting area is large and well ventilated. Plenty of parking in the parking lot.

The staff is wonderful. Very clean inside and out. Free items in the vending machine outside and as well in the restrooms. Condoms, plan b, contraceptive pills and feminine products.
