The site says that vaccines are by appointment only and to call the number listed. Problem is, they NEVER answer! I have been calling throughout the day and all last week and this week and nobody picks up. This is an ongoing issue as I have tried previously and eventually gave up.

Completely incompetent service.. no one knows anything not even the epidemiologists and the supervisor of them is clueless. Absolutely frustrating, all the epidemiologists know is what is on the website nothing else..everyone else knows 0. In my country epidemiologists are very smart well known people who know everything that is happening. No one is clueless about anything. Plus that center hangs up the phone, talk about awesome service!

The worst thing the city did was force businesses to go through 311 to get to Metro Health Department for issues for environmental services. Slowest and inefficient. Please get out of the stone age and get online.

I was told I would receive a text message within 2 days that would inform me of the appointment for my 2nd dose. It's been a week, I haven't received a text or a call. I have emailed 3 times only got automatic reply all 3 times, which doesn't tell you what to do if nobody contacts you for your 2nd dose. I have called 311 so many times I lost count, but it keeps saying they are experiencing a high number of calls to try again later & hangs up.

The COVID-19 vaccine program managed by San Antonio Metro Health is outstanding! I am truly impressed how efficient the program operates. I made an appointment by phone, waited 20 minutes to make an appointment that fit my schedule. Arrived at the Alamo Dome LOT C for staging 30 minutes prior to my appointment; police onsite and volunteers to direct each auto into rows of approximately 50 autos then moved to LOT B into multiple lines where my appointment was verified and then given a vaccine packet of paperwork to fill out while waiting in my auto. Was asked repeatedly if I was there for 1st or 2nd shot to ensure I was in the correct place. An EMT reviewed my vaccine paperwork packet and then received a shot that did not hurt at all. Scheduled my 2nd shot at a date and time that worked for me. Waited for another 20 minutes in line to ensure I had no adverse effects and was checked by another EMT. Total time 1 hour, outstanding! Thank you to all the volunteers, police, EMTs and nurses administering the shots and last bit not least the Mayor and his team at Metro Health, job well done!
