Kudos to both the Town Clerk and Treasurer. Always a welcome feeling, despite the discomfort of having to pay such high taxes! Town Clerk has evening hours one day a week making it so much easier to do business for the working folks. Without a doubt, a fine face for this little town.

Stopped in to pay my excise tax at the tax collectors office in this building. It's a good thing tourists have no reason to come the Sandwich Town Hall Annex, because this is a very unwelcoming place and it's not a good representation of the town of Sandwich and its residents. Three women were working at their desks, not one looked up when I entered, not one said hello. One managed to get up and asked what I needed. I handed her my bill, she took the money and gave a receipt and that was it. No hello, no good-bye, no smiles, nothing. Next time I'll mail a check.
