I recently wrote a letter addressed to Jason Monroe about my experience working with a revolving door of employees in his office, not receiving complete information when they contacted me with a mistake they found with deed I filed. Despite my sending a copy of the letter I sent previously when the deed was filed, confirming that everything they requested for deed was attached and a copy of the note they recently had sent, indicating what was needed, only to discover that they needed something different and wanted to also charge me again to submit it. Mr. Monroe could not be bothered with a professional response. He cashed the 40.00 check again for same deed and sent everything back stamped with no response to my letter or explanation for why he was ignoring my letter. This office has ever changing employees who are not held accountable for not communicating completely when something is needed. I had a completely different experience in another County doing exactly the same thing. There the employees were helpful thorough and knowledgeable. I am Disgusted with my experience in Sevier County and the lack of professionalism of Jason Monroe, who could not be bothered to respond to my letter which clearly explained what had transpired.

I came to the Recorder office today to research some old family land. The older of the ladies was very short with us. She seemed put out when we asked to look at the old record books in the vault. She was irritated whenever we had a question on how to look something up with the books and the computers. I’m not sure why they need to be rude to people that are there to do research but I did not enjoy having to ask her for anything. She told us after we had been there for some hours that we would need to wrap things up because they were closing. The time was 4:26 and they close at 5:00.
