Had to get my marriage license somewhere in Massachusetts. Sheffield is the closest town to Litchfield county in Connecticut and I’m very happy we went. Convenient hours, no more Covid restrictions, no appointment needed. The license was actually cheaper than some of the other towns I called. The town clerk was one of the nicest government officials I have ever met. Very sweet, very sociable, and actually cared while helping us. Most towns make you come back. They are kind enough to mail it.

Nicole helped me locate several records for my ancestors, she was so patient and kind. She also helped me get in contact with Dewey Research Center. Thank you so much, Nicole!
