Called to get my daughter a physical since we just moved here from kansas and dont have insurance yet, and was told they do nothing with child care or physicals. What exactly is the purpose of a health department here in North Carolina if not to help families with no insurance.

Been having quite a few health problems lately and they're getting worse so I tried to go to the local health department to get help because I don't have health insurance so I was going to pay out of pocket. The first scheduled appointment was canceled and rescheduled for the following week. I waited another week and Been sick all week. Got to the appointment and gave them my appointment card and they said I had no scheduled appointment and wanted to know who gave me the appointment card. I didn't know the lady's name. So the receptionist went and asked the doctor what to do and the doctor said I'm not feeling to intrigued today so reschedule. I said never mind and came to the emergency room. I will never ask for their help or services again.

My wife and I were called in the morning and asked if we could com in for our Covid-19 shot we were given a 10:45am appointment and arrived early (no line) we answered their questions and were given the shot and were out in 15 min. and did not feel a thing. my arm was a little sore for a couple of hours , however to be fair it's the same every time I get a flue shot so all is good.

We have the best health department. Every experience we have had with them has been positive. I took our five kids (including a child with non-verbal moderate autism) in to get flu shots today, and we were in and out of there in no time. The two ladies administering the shots were so professional, patient, and kind. I'm so grateful.
