I will be using a false name of Elliot for the sake of this comment. Mental health services were called to Elliot's home, where Melinda arrived after Elliot had taken a handful of pills. I called in regard to this call and Melinda promised to call back after the crisis call she claimed to be on (ending our call at approximately 3pm). Hours later, Elliot was roaming the streets with cut up knuckles and Melinda arrived after police were on scene. Melinda refused to 5150 Elliot, even after Elliot admitted to their suicide attempt. Officers claimed Melinda had the final call for a 5150. Melinda refused to listen when Elliot's entire family advocated for their need for mental health help and was rude to multiple family members when they attempted to advocate for Elliot. I am greatly disappointed in Melinda's inadequacy and disregard for the law.

With the exception of very few any person employed here at whatever level they are employed at are rude. They like to speak down at people , use unfavorable facial expression when speaking with you. Are absolutely unable to read or feel out a situation and adjust to it. The lack of communication between workers that are part of the same case is outlandish! They are unorganized, uncaring and basically not prepared for the job they are suppose to be doing. All of them need to attend a class on appropriate social skills and behavior. The fact they hold the lives of our children in their very unworthy, uncaring, knowledge lacking hands is something to worry about at the least. Simply sad that this is coming from a resource family and not a parent whose experience I’m sure is far worse. For the sake of children Tulare do better . Other counties know what they need for them to succeed and help their county’s children prosper, so watch and try to learn then one can only hope apply it to fixing TULARE COUNTY’s child services.

It sounds like I'm lucky since I haven't yet had any experience with any of them. I think it is a very bad situation, when a DSS office is creating this many negative responses. I was just going to comment, that I can never get anyone on the phone. Just for general questions. I've been calling every working day for a week and never get to talk to anyone. Are they that understaffed?

i dont understand how they are this incompetent. My child has had to miss 3 rounds of immunization because they cant seem to keep anything straight, input wrong numbers, wrong addresses, wrong incomes, then make you wait on hold for who knows how long, this is day 4 hour 3 for me currently as i type this. place should be bombed. i have the taxes paper trail, YOU'RE the ones who are wrong. will they fix it this time, highly doubt, as their combined intellectual level is no further than hot chip, beat off, paycheck.
