My experience was really comforting. Front desk checked me in at WIC . I went early in the morning so there wasn’t that many people to wait in line. Paperwork went smoothly, just long. The nurse who took my vitals was kind, did her job and left. The nurse practitioner Jayne Turner ,was very comforting and helpful and vibrant. I was initially nervous but she took my nerves away. She helped me throughout my visit and exam there and was very reassuring. She heard me and listened and didn’t make me feel uncomfortable and didn’t body shame me. Not everybody is like that so I’m just grateful that there are a few people who actually care about patients in this field.

Before this, the WIC department employees have been so helpful and made the process effortless…today was different. Called WIC to setup an appointment for my child. I was immediately put on hold for 15 minutes before another person answered. She gave me dates and times for late March. I gave her the days and times I was available. She stated she didn’t have a calendar in front of her so she didn’t know the dates and times she gave me and told me to call back next week. This interaction felt unprofessional and I’m disappointed that she didn’t care enough to try and help more.

I went this morning to get a birth certificate and they were taking pictures for Breast Cancer Awareness month. I waited for a minute or two and once they were done I went to my place and I received the nicest treatment. One amazing woman automatically assisted me and then another walked with me and talked and then the lady that helped get the certificate was so sweet. Best experience I have had at a government facility in a while.

i had a great experience here! everyone was very kind to me from the office staff to the nurses to the doctor. yes, it was a bit slow, but it’s a county health department. they’re doing their best. i was seen after about an hour of waiting, which I felt was good based on the # of staff and patients I saw. definitely will return!!

Do not go if you have anxiety. I went and my mom came with me because my anxiety is bad and so we go in and I tend to read things to understand where I am a lady comes from no where and we were reading the Medicaid sign said they closed at 3:30 and she gets to yelling at us saying they are closed. I said yes ma’am I see that and she still yelling at us telling us that those papers aren’t for us to read or some and put my paper in the drop box like I couldn’t already read that as well. I say do better I felt very disrespected and the lady annoyed me so much and my anxiety was just very high after wards. You would think the health department would have sweet people to deal with everyone.
