SO since my Facebook review was blocked and deleted I will leave my review here as well. On August 7th 2020 I called the Vermillion county health department to inquire about my sons need for his second meningitis shot. The nurse for VCHD told me he needed his second meningitis shot, HPV vaccine and meningitis b vaccine. I had previously spoken to my sons school nurse who said he only needed his second meningitis shot that is required and not to be confused with meningitis b which isn’t required. While speaking with the VCHD nurse I told her we decline the HPV vaccine and the meningitis b vaccine that we only wanted the second meningitis that is required and due for my child. The VCHD nurse seemed disappointed I refused and began to ask me if I knew what the HPV vaccine was and that it may be required ( I had already knew it wasn’t required) I again said it isn’t required and we decline. She concurred and set out appointment for August 11 @ 2pm. Upon arrive we were given a packet to fill out for basic information as it was our first visit ever to this facility, I filled the info out and waited to be called back. Several minutes passed and they call us back to a room and I’m headed three papers. Top paper is information on his second meningitis, second paper is that of info on HPV vaccine and the last paper was that of information for meningitis b. So at this point I’m thinking ok she wants to make sure I have the tools needed to stay educated so I didn’t think anything of it. She hands me another paper that states what all he will be getting on this day and I notice the HPV vaccine and meningitis b is added on there. As I see that the nurse and aide comes in the room with a tray of three vaccines and tells me he needs to return in late September. I again tell her he shouldn’t have to return he is only here for his second meningitis shot and that is it and I specifically spoke to the nurse on the phone and made it clear several times we decline those extra vaccines. The VCHD nurse huffs at me and says it would’ve been her I spoke with but she speaks to so many people so 🤷🏻♀️ And then she says she needs that paper back then that has what is going to be done and walks out. Few minutes later she comes back in with one vaccine and proceeded to question me about the HPV vaccine and how indiana is one of the leading states for it and that college may be requiring it. I again told her When time comes we will deal with it then but as of now we still decline. She proceeded again to ask me if I know what HPV is and I state yes I’ve had two personal instances With it myself and again we don’t not want the vaccine. She was extremely pushy and wasn’t taking no for an answer until I said again firmly I am well educated on the matter and decline!!! Had I not gone back with my son who is 18 mind you, he would have willing taken those two extra shots without the knowledge and understanding of what those substances were! My son received the one shot required and we left and wont return. I was so appalled by their actions and refusal to respect our medical choices that I wrote a review on the fb page and also shared my experience with the community so that others will not feel pressured into doing things they don’t want too. No patient should ever have to feel discouraged, ignorant or discriminated against for their personal medical choices. I’m even more appalled this facility tried to cover it up and delete my review which makes me even more suspicious of them and the nurse. I went public because many people feel that they should be able to fully trust those with credibility and of authority, but not all of those in these positions are taking your best interest at heart. Please know that all patients have a right to choose and stand up for their healthcare!!! I will be monitoring this site to see if this disappears again. This time I have copied it and will take further action with the state health department!!! .

We had our families Covid-19 shots here. They knew exactly how to get the kids to take their vaccinations without a struggle. They also were great with our adoption papers.
