When we went to get our marriage license, the women at the counter were rude and unfriendly as it came. Treated us like our presence there was an inconvenience for them.

We went to get a marriage license. They lady at the desk who assisted us was lovely and extremely helpful. The security officer was not. An older gentleman, he was sarcastic and rude to us when we arrived and went through the metal detector. Overall, getting our license was a simple process.

I do not live in Ohio but I got married there in warren county & it was so easy to obtain my marriage license. Took less than 5 min to fill out the form & the lady at the front desk is so nice. I’m not sure if it’s the same one that answers the main phone here but she is also super nice and fast with helping you & very knowledgeable.

It’s disappointing how poorly the Warren County Probate Court handles customer service for marriage license applications, especially given the information posted on their own site. According to their site, applicants must arrive by 3:45 PM to begin the process, which we did. However, we were turned away because we hadn’t completed the application form beforehand. The clerk claimed the site states the form must be completed prior to arrival, but that’s not accurate at all as she lied to our faces. The site does mention that the Marriage License if completing an online application should be submitted at least 24 hours in advance, but it doesn’t require that wait for walk-ins who arrive before the stated deadline of 3:45 PM. It’s incredibly frustrating to leave work early, arrive on time as instructed by their own rules, and still be turned away due to misrepresented policies by the probate court staff in person it's honestly insulting to be lied to like that. To make matters worse, their rigid hours (8:00 AM–4:00 PM, with no weekend availability) offer little flexibility for working individuals. It felt as though we were treated as an inconvenience rather than as valued members of the community (...which they should, as this is part of a their role.) simply trying to follow their own posted instructions. Better communication and courtesy are essential, especially considering how many people rely on this service for such an important milestone in their lives. At the very least, staff should adhere to the posted rules on the counties own website or have them update them to reflect what they are actually enforcing, preventing confusion and wasted time for working individuals that planned their work schedule around this. If anyone reads this, improve this and strive to do better and don't lie to people's faces.

Didn't know where to begin with regards to applying for guardianship for my son. Reached out via email. Very helpful, got me to the correct form I needed. Filled out the form to the best of my ability. Visited the provided legal counsel (free) on Thursday mornings. Again, very nice lawyer, helped me filled out what I was missing. Probate clerks notarized the paperwork. *IF* you need to get fingerprinted at the Warren County Sheriff's office, bring $65 exactly, not $70. They will not make change, and they cannot keep the extra $5. Very nice people there as well. Probate clerk asked the Judge to make an exception with regards to a very personal situation with regards to my son's mom/my wife. Judge was beyond wonderful and caring. Please and thank you's go a long way in this building, mainly because I don't think many people say it to them enough. Be respectful, listen to the deputies while in the building, silence your phone, dress ACCORDINGLY, you are going to court after all. No one is going to take you serious in your pajamas and slippers. These are all the basics, but I feel compelled to mention them from what I witnessed during my 3-4 visits here. ALL very nice people, treat them accordingly and they will in return, treat you the same way, at least that was my experience. Thank you one and all!
