Town of Westport is located in Fairfield County; it was established as a town in 1835 and currently has approximately 27,000 residents. There are two beaches; both are municipal beaches, Compo Beach and Burying Hill Beach. Sherwood Island State Park also has a beach. I enjoyed exploring the area. The beach area was very serene. It's approximately 48 miles from NYC so there are a ton of commuters. It's part of the Gold Coast which is an affluent area in southwestern Connecticut. Overall, it's a safe and picturesque town with good schools. Downfall, housing prices are astronomical.
