The healthy moms, healthy babies program is incredible. The nurse I had visited my house once a month through my whole pregnancy up until my son turned 2. They practically became a part of the family. Please, if you are offered to be a part of the program, if you can, accept. You will not be disappointed.

Healthy Mom's Healthy Babies, I was offered this program after having my daughter. Initially, I thought it was helpful, but most of the information they provided was repetitive, I was already receiving the same guidance from my doctors. My opinion changed drastically after I was falsely 302’d and forced into the hospital. I explained that I would be released by the end of the day because there was no evidence I intended to harm myself or my child. The thought they acted on had occurred weeks earlier, with no action taken, and I had already informed my husband, mother, and doctor. I was trying to be honest and transparent, but instead, I ended up with a knock at my doctor’s office from the program nurse, her manager, and the police. I had no choice but to go with them, in front of my other children. That experience was humiliating and unnecessary. Afterward, I tried to give the program another chance, but it was never the same. You have to be extremely careful what you share because they are quick to escalate situations. My nurse was pregnant and seemed to let her emotions influence her decisions. I was relieved when she eventually left. I also felt she was overly involved in my medical records and repeatedly brought up issues I had already discussed with my doctor. At one point, she even referenced appointments for my teenage children who were not part of the program, which felt like a HIPAA violation. Additionally, she shared details about other patients, which was highly unprofessional. This program has potential if they improve their practices and respect boundaries. If you’re in the program, I hope it works for you, but please be cautious. Being 302’d when you don’t need it is traumatic—they make you feel like a prisoner with no rights. The process is degrading, especially having to undress in front of strangers and officers of the opposite sex. So, be careful.
