They were extremely unhelpful. Wouldn't help me with some questions I had about an inheritance claim. The woman on the phone actually hung up on me and I had to Call Her Back. She pretty much treated me like a burden. I was shocked! 😲

Five years ago I was awarded Guardianship of my adult, disabled daughter. Over the last four years all yearly filings were handled correctly, to my knowledge. This year I received a letter stating I had not fully completed my filing. When I called the court for more information I was met with rudeness and an almost accusatory tone, as though any mistakes were not only the previous staff’s fault, but mine as well. When I uttered, “Oh my god” out loud (twice), I was hung up on. I was not yelling, swearing, or being anything other than completely confused about the things being said to me. I called back and spoke to another person who was almost equally as rude, but she did not hang up on me. Any questions I had were answered with, “I’m not a lawyer, I can’t answer that. Clerks clerk. Lawyers lawyer.” It was explained that the current staff “has a mess to clean up” from the previous staff’s mistakes. While I’m sympathetic about this situation, it in no way means rudeness to the public is the answer. I will say I had to acquire a copy of my marriage license the week prior to this, and it was handled efficiently and quickly. This is why I gave 2 stars, rather than 1.
