I’m not sure why the stars are so low, when ever I’ve needed their service, whether for my self or my children, they have provided for our needs with kindness and professionalism! From prenatal care to child health they are great! Even going thru birth control and yearly Pap smears has been great (as great as a pap can be really). They provide a much needed service to our community and also education not just about planning parenthood but general health as well. Definitely recommend

The nurses in the back were so awesome and kind! The African American woman at the front desk was extremely rude and short with me! I told her I had just called and they told me to come straight over. She told me to fill out a paper on a clipboard. I began and she told me I couldn’t do it at the window. I was the only person there! I was so surprised by her rudeness! Why does the county have such a hateful person in charge??? It’s just as easy to be nice as it is to be rude!!

The receptionist and another lady were extremely rude and unprofessional to my wife who didn't have a mask on first thing on the morning, needing to simply pick up forms to fill out ahead of an appointment. The sign said they'll provide one. Apparently they were out of masks and refused to even talk to her... just told her she had to leave, and threatened to call 911 on her when she asked if she could just be handed the forms she needed. She told them she will walk outside and call to ask for it, and they refused to answer the phone. Pathetic, arrogant and unprofessional. After coming home and getting a mask, she went back and was handed the form but told she cannot fill them out in the reception area because of Covid and people coming in for testing. After filling out in her car, coming back in and handing out to them, she is told to sit in reception and wait to be called back for her appointment. Have these public employees lost their ability to be reasonable? Shame on them!

PLEASE LEARN TO COMMUNICATE HOURS & CLOSURES… This place is maddening. I’m to the point I will gladly drive to another county for vital records than use Autauga County Health Department. 6 months ago, I took off work early to get a birth certificate. I arrived at 4:30 only to be told that “We need more than 30 minutes to process the paperwork and we close at 5:00 so you have to come back tomorrow.” They couldn’t even let me fill out the paperwork and pay to pick up the next day. There is NO signage of this “rule” which is frustrating. I thought this was a fluke but was proven wrong. In 6/20/24 I came to get more vital records. I arrived at 3:30 just in case only to be greeted by a locked and closed building. On a random Thursday? Why?? Again, no signage on the door or posts on social media. Arrive the next day on 6/21/2024 when they open at 7:30 only to be told vital records doesn’t open until 8:00am. WHERE IS THIS COMMUNICATED?! No signage, nothing on website about this difference in service hours. When I asked if they could begin posting signage or social media details I was looked at like that didn’t make sense. It is extremely frustrating to take off work early or go in late simply because this department is inefficient and doesn’t know how to communicate their correct times, service hours, and rules to the public. Please, please, please try to correct this. It’s the most basic common courtesy available…
