Today I figured out I didn't have a copy of my birth certificate. Trying to get a passport, so that's important! I looked online for what I'd need and it was confusing, so I called the register of deeds and the woman who took my call told me what I need and confirmed I could just come on down. So I hopped in my car and off I went. I was in and out fast and easy. The man who helped me was very pleasant, so my visit was anything from boring. Overall, 10/10 would return if I needed a birth certificate again.

Wow, that's like the best experience I've ever had at a government office. There was one person in line in front of me, and they were almost done. I went to get a replacement birth certificate after mine met with an accident after taking it to get my RealID (who knew, I've been using a fake ID for the last 28 years?). They even validated/comped my parking in the garage. I don't recall who or even if I voted for register of deeds last it popped on my ballot, but if this is the norm, I know who I will be next time.
