Earlier this month I took the opportunity to visit my customers while driving to and from Atlanta, after my flight was cancelled. I am not familiar with the area or the parking. I parked next to the courthouse as my customer was a block away. I paid for parking. Unsurprising to me (I lived in Louisiana for four years) I received a parking ticket because my back tyre was on the line defining a parking space. Louisiana has not changed since I moved to Texas twenty years ago. It’s a shame people wanting to business here are treated this way but eh, it’s the reason we don’t right!

Wow! Mike Spence has been hard at work making the building more easy to navigate and just an all around more pleasant experience. I went in to get a copy of my birth certificate and found all departments clearly labeled and easy to find. This area has also been rearranged with a friendlier, easier vibe.

My interaction with Christy Lopez ad Dee Marshall was by telephone today. Both were courteous, professional and extremely helpful when it came to my queries about Probate filings. Thank you both so much!

Well, it's a court house. I do not like going there as it's downtown with downtown headaches mainly parking. If you are just going to pop in, I do not want to pay for a parking lot, so street parking it is. Parallel parking. Not my favorite. The meters take coins, I I think maybe some sort of electronic payment? I do not go very often and have not figured that one out. The meter we used today was not like any I've seen before. One meter for two spots, and only one slot for coins. You have to look at the meter to see which side - right or left - it is set for. You may end up putting money on the OTHER slot, not yours, and then YOU get a ticket. I should've taken a photo, but was a bit distracted by my mission at the court house :) Once inside the court house, the ever so common security. I know this is part of life. But my watch ?? Really..... ?? That's a new one for me. The courthouse has several offices, naturally. The few various ones we've visited have always had nice and helpful employees. Great job they do, working with the public !
