My experience with this Probate Court has raised serious concerns regarding procedural fairness, accountability, and the protection of elderly individuals’ rights. In this matter, it appeared that when biological family members were not actively involved, the wishes of the elder and the trusted person already designated in valid estate planning documents were not given meaningful weight. Rather than providing protection, the process resulted in both the elder and the person he trusted feeling unheard and deprived of due process. Particularly troubling was that Mr. Steve was removed from his home without any hearing explaining the necessity for that removal, while significant property issues remained actively disputed. This experience has left the impression that critical decisions affecting liberty, home, and dignity were made without sufficient transparency or careful consideration.
