Called Thursday to get an appointment. Spoke to Cathy, who was very nice and tried her best to help. Appointment was available for Tuesday, but was no longer available by the time intake questions were finished. She told me to call back a different number Monday morning at 8. I was instructed not to leave a voice-mail because they dont check messages in real time (what the heck). I began calling at 8:00 sharp. After going through a circular queue on hold for an hour with no success, I called Rowan Health Department and got an appointment for the next day within five minutes. Apparently Forsyth is terribly understaffed and ill-equipped to serve the needs of the community in a reasonable and timely manner. If hiring people to answer the phone at a wage that inspires people to work is not an option for the needs of the community, then Forsyth Health Dept needs to be equipped to automate the process with an appointment calendar for self-scheduling available on their website. What an utter waste of time and energy to sit on hold an hour on Monday after beginning this process on Thursday.
