Last Monday I had one of the most disappointing experiences at Henry County Vital Records. I went in to do a routine task—pick up death certificates for a shipment, something I do regularly. This time, I was helped by a staff member named Chaudreya West and her Supervisor Rasheeka. Despite my name being listed on the death certificate as the funeral director and embalmer, and being a notary and deputy registrar in Henry County, I was told I had to leave and fax the request—even though I was standing there with it in hand. I complied, left and faxed it, and came right back. Then I waited at her window for over 30 minutes while she was in the back, seemingly trying to find a reason to deny me the documents. Was there a full hour before she finally gave me the death certificates. What hurts most is that this felt like racial profiling—from someone in my own race. We have to do better. Respect and professionalism should never be optional. #HenryCounty #VitalRecords #DoBetter #ProfessionalismMatters #CommunityCare

I would like to publicly acknowledge the county clerk, Ms. Courtney Crawford for her stellar customer service and support. It is not easy dealing with a loved ones Estate. She spent many emails and calls advising how I need to fix the Final Return. For that I will be forever grateful to her and to the ONE that placed her in my path.

If you have a need to visit probate court, I like this one. It's not fancy, it's in the cut, but the people are friendly and you can get in and out taking care of your business. The parking is free, and while there aren't an abundance of spots, there usually isn't more cars than spaces. All the information you need is graciously provided. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful.

I was in and out in about 10 minutes the staff was friendly and courteous. It took me longer to find parking that the time I spent taking care of my business there. Seriously the only thing they need to improve is the parking it is just too small for the amount of people they have to assist on the daily basis.
