The state of Indiana launched an investigation in 2021 into the home of Mary and Jeremy Cox, Catholic parents who would not refer to their son using pronouns and a name inconsistent with his biological sex. A state court then removed their child from their home—and never returned him to their custody—even after dismissing all allegations of abuse and neglect against them. The state court also barred them from speaking to their son about their religious beliefs and human sexuality during visitation and placed him in a home that would affirm his preferred gender identity. The parents are asking the Supreme Court to protect other parents from losing custody of their children over their religious beliefs. STATUS On February 15, 2024, Becket and Hershberger Law Office filed a reply brief at the Supreme Court on behalf of the parents, asking the Justices to strike down the Indiana court rulings and protect the right of all parents to raise their children consistent with their religious beliefs.

Checking in for probation. My probation officer seems like a nice lady seemed understanding and seem to treat me with compassion and empathy. It was my first visit we'll see how it goes from here on out. But the buildings okay it's cool been there a while.

As a Texas resident who previously lived in Indiana, I had a child support case for my daughter in Madison County Circuit Court. Recently, I had a court date via phone since I couldn’t travel back to Indiana. Earlier, during my visit in November, I went to the 4D Child Support office to begin the process of removing my daughter’s dad from child support. The ladies in the 4D office were absolutely amazing—helpful, patient, and professional. The next step was to abate the child support, which brought us to this court date. My daughter’s dad and I agreed to dismiss the arrears he owed me and zero out the balance. However, the judge did not clearly explain the process during the hearing, leaving both of us confused. We thought we were simply finalizing the arrears dismissal. Instead, I learned that due to a new law, the obligation shifted, and I was now ordered to pay child support—$115 weekly—despite having cared for my daughter for 14 years. This decision was bewildering, as no one asked for income verification or provided clarification about how this amount was determined. The day after the court date, I called 4D to better understand the situation. The first person I spoke to tried to explain, but I still had questions. When I called back later to circuit court one, I spoke with a staff member named Kim, who was incredibly rude and unprofessional. She dismissed my concerns, accused me of calling repeatedly for the same information, and spoke to me in a disrespectful tone. When I explained that her colleague gave me different information, she became defensive. Her attitude was completely uncalled for, especially as I was trying to navigate an already stressful situation. While I appreciate the helpful staff in the 4D office during my November visit, my overall experience with the court left me disappointed. The lack of clear communication during the hearing and the unprofessional behavior from staff like Kim were unacceptable. People reaching out to the court are often in difficult situations and deserve kindness, patience, and clarity. I hope the court takes steps to improve communication and staff professionalism to better serve the public.

If I could give this place NEGATIVE stars, I would! You call for help, no one wants to help you, they transfer you to someone else and I get hung up on immediately (before anyone even answers the phone). This happened 5 times in the last 25 minutes. No one knows anything and no one wants to do their job. Makes me sick to think these people have any type of authority or are in charge of anything. That's why would should be able to change things ourselves through the online website. The 5+ people I spoke to should all be ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES! I've never felt so disrespected in my life.

This court house is sexist, prejudices, judicial bias, harassment, defamation of character, bout father's rights at all judge koaster does whatever he pleases with no repercussions for his actions as judge they took my kids away and labeled me "dangerous" without even setting another court hearing or giving me a reason on how I got label he's a joke and needs to be fired permanently they will also make it a money game I've been dealing with multiple custody battles for the last 8 years and my kids mom over dosed 8 years ago. He literally granted custody to the grandparents on the moms side which is where she overdosed in the same room my kids sleep in
