Queue system was great, we were still on our way there when we were told we we were up. Very easy to “request” additional time. Clerk employee was very helpful as we were transferring out of state titles. Only took about 5 or 6 minutes once called and they have all the plates there (unless you get a personalized plate) so no wait.

As of the writing of this post they have just updated their system of waiting. I recommend making an appointment...if their website worked. I tried to book an appointment so I could get plates for my new motorcycle, but no matter how far out I tried to make an appointment the options were blank. And yes I did look up to two months out, but no dice. So I got there at 9:30 and ended up waiting for 4 1/2 hours. So instead of using the old ticket system, you sign in on tablets attached to the wall. And don’t get me wrong I’m all about updating and streamlining the process of doing stuff. But when your system is severely flawed then you need to iron out the bugs before using it. Either way the boss was stomping around like some pterodactyl monster in high heels and wouldn’t work at a desk to help alleviate wait times. She was consistently rude to people asking what was going on. If this was a private business it sure as hell wouldn’t last, luckily for them they’re a government agency so they’re safe in their employment. The only saving grace was Lee Ann, she was really sweet and compassionate. I really hope they get their stuff squared away, but knowing how Missoula runs stuff, it won’t.

The many times I have had interactions with this office it has been a delight. The online check in worked faster then my ability to find parking, every window clerk I've worked with has been so friendly and helpful, and every transaction has been quick and easy. Everyone is also so kind to my toddler and the building is gorgeous!

The new online line reservation process worked great, I was able to reserve a spot in line before I left home, with an estimate of the wait time. The wait ended up being far less than expected (before I got there) and the system let me restore my place in line when I arrived. This all meant virtually no wait time when I got there, although they have kiosks for those who don't want to use the online system. The clerks were all polite and helpful, and they got me pointed in the correct direction quickly. Overall one of the best experiences I've had at a government building!

Huge thank you to Gretchen & staff! I had to order an expedited copy of my birth certificate for a passport! (Put my important papers somewhere way too safe during move)! They answered multiple calls very patiently and helped me get my online order in on time Th morning. Official copy in my mailbox by 10:30am Friday! Crisis averted…thank you so much!!! 🙌🏼❤️
