I've had to go into this office on two occasions. Karen, the woman who works behind the desk in this office is the most rude, unprofessional person I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. I hope the County Clerk, Michael C. Backus will see this review so that he will know who and what his constituents are being subjected to when they meet Miss Karen in the office. I'll continue trying to contact County Clerk Backus to alert him to the rude staff he has working for him.

Expect to be disappointed and pay at minimum 5 dollars for each and every tiny little thing. 20 dollars to get your pictures taken, 40 dollars for paperwork. Unhappy with the prices and slow speed for govt paperwork.

These people in this office try to violate our civil rights. Freedom of the press, we walked in and the secretaries wouldn't even look up at us, so why are they paid with our tax dollars, they have signs up clearly violating our rights. How are these people continuing to get away with this behavior, it's because they haven't been called out. Know y'all look disgusting with your attitude not helping the public. The camera is there to hold you accountable. In the law you stated when we look it up it doesn't say anything about not taking pictures, you added it to make someone think it's part of it, you lied. Tell your clerks in this office to do their job or find another and you work for us. Disgusting

Worst office in the county. Not to mention seeing as they're open til 5pm why is it literally impossible to get them to answer the phone at 4pm. I just spent 54min on the phone. It was just ringing the whole time and not one soul answered. THEY LET THE PHONE RING FOR A FULL HOUR SO IT WOULD EVENTUALLY GO TO THE WE'RE CLOSED MESSAGE. I can 10 out of 10 confirm when i show up in person tomorrow they aren't going to be happy.

Came here years ago to register a small business in Oswego County. No wait at all — I was seen quickly, and the paperwork arrived in the mail shortly after. The whole process was smooth and efficient from start to finish. Note: this office is located in the brick Legislative Office Building on E. Bridge St. — not the domed courthouse that some photos in this listing appear to show.
