They’ve always been super helpful and welcoming over the twenty years I’ve been going in there. We’ve had several moves and absentee voting cycles and they’ve always been sure to help us get registered appropriately.

Terrible communication.. which resulted in me and my spouse not having the same last name. My husband has a hyphenated last name and we called and they said that we could declare our new last names when we turned in our wedding license… we double checked when we first purchased our certificate and I asked if I need to use my name now or if I should change it to my husband’s name on the form and she said that I need to just use my current last name. Now they are telling us that we both have to go through the court system to change it… and we don’t even share the hyphenated last name because I was told not to change it on the form.. this is going to be extremely difficult for us because we live in a sprinter van… We’re very annoyed and disappointed with the Livingston county clerks office. They have given us more trouble than we were ever prepared for.
