There is something for everyone here. After the initial museum, don't forget to explore the outdoor exhibits. Very informative window to the past.

Since Ft. Larned was closed due to the government shutdown we found this gem!

We took our family to the Fort Larned National Historic Site. The first time we went there was a huge problem with wasps and bees. I am highly allergic to wasps, and bees. We could barely go in and look at any of the exhibits as the whole place was swarmed with bees. We were unable to get photographs because of this. The second time we went, it was not like that. It's a great museym. In fact I was able to take enough photographs that I was able to publish a book that is available on Amazon! Love this Fort and will definitely go back.

I have visited this site off and on throughout my life and it has always impressed, but it has really taken off with the new digital interactive system. The interpretive panels really understand the history. The staff are incredibly helpful and have that classic Kansas charm.
