I have had to get documents for my kids over the years as well as covid home tests when they were needed. I am often greeted when I come in and instructed on what my next steps are. I am usually in and out quickly too!

Ive been going to the Jacksonville Health Unit for Years! I’m normally greeted with a smile and respect. However, today was very different. I rushed away from my job praying that I made it before they closed. I looked at my grandson who was with me at the time. He was waiting so patiently to get his grapes that I promised him. We entered the nearly empty parking lot and excitingly jumped out of my truck and went in. I looked down at my watch realizing that I made it just in time before they closed. It was 4:28 p.m. There was only one person in the lobby and he was already being assisted. I thought to myself, I’m just loading my Wic card so this won’t take long. We sat down and waited for our turn. As we were waiting, someone walked in and immediately went to the door to get to the back. By this time we were the only ones waiting to be seen. A few more minutes passed by and we were called to be seen. As soon I got to the window a blue haired woman greeted me very rudely by saying “You should’ve came 5 minutes ago! We close at 4:30.” I said “excuse me” I was sitting right in front of the door when you walked in ma’am. Which was about 10 mins before she called me to the counter. And furthermore you’re very rude to tell me what I “should’ve” done. I asked for her name and she said so proudly “Samantha.” I looked at her and let her know that she’s clearly not supposed to treat customers the way she was treating me. She completely ignored everything that I was saying to her and asked me if I wanted the receipt. Which was a list of items that I could purchase with the card that was being loaded. I told her yes. The whole time I was standing in front of her I was telling myself, “if only I hadn’t promised my grandson that I would get him those grapes.” And to make matters worse, she only gave me two months of benefits when I was advised a day before that three months were available for Feb. March and April. So she intentionally left off a month. If I ever have to have another encounter with Samantha I would rather not even get the benefits of WIC. I did get my baby those grapes and he was happy. I only hate that he had to witness what this rude lady did to his GiGi. I am most definitely going to speak with a supervisor tomorrow.

I was place on hold before I received a greeting. The phone was answered and the hold music was put on. When I did speak to someone I was told them what I needed. They claimed to not offer the service. The website said the service was offered and the same service was offered at every other branch. Not polite at all. No one seemed to want to help. I suggest making appointments for the Cabot branch. Very polite and eager to help
