My fiancé and I drove down 6 hrs to Santa Barbara to obtain a marriage license but they didn’t “approve” my government photo Id because of the stamped logo in the front was faded off but it has Nothing to do with my personal info. It’s real, it was valid, told them to scan it but still didn’t go for it. Personally felt discriminated.

I needed to order a copy of my birth certificate that was from eons ago; I'm no spring chicken. I had some unusual questions and wanted to talk to someone at the County first before sending in an application. I found the number I needed and called this morning reaching a lady named Annie. Annie was very knowledgeable answering all my questions. She was also pleasant and professional! Great experience! Thank you!

The staff was incredibly supportive of our marriage ceremony, and added much to the joy of the day. The Santa Barbara County Courthouse Gardens setting is magnificent, and John, the official who performed our ceremony, could not have been more friendly or more supportive. It was a real delight meeting you all. Thank you!

My wife and I were married at the Santa Barbara Courthouse by the Deputy Commissioner of Civil Marriages. I was so impressed with how this office and the Deputy Commissioner made our day feel special. The grounds are beautiful and we took so many photos from all over the Courthouse grounds. The staff is so polite, professional, and efficient. Please make sure you're on time and ready, preparation is key to ensuring this day will be smooth for you if you decide to get married here. I do recommend it if you are having a small wedding with less than 12 people. Anymore and they will just be standing around for administrative actions to be completed and there will be multiple wedding ceremonies occurring so anymore people and they may interfere with other ceremonies or photo shoots.

The staff are not prepared to do the work for the day, second day in the row aren’t able to take payment for a document copy. No Apple Pay no charge for 50$ bill, how is this office allowed to take payments? Sending thru customers to a bank to break a bill. Saying it’s not their problem they don’t have change. Really unheard off customer service!!
