If you're getting car tags, ignore the bad reviews. I walked in at 8:00 and I was out by 9:00 with two tags. You don't need to come early--the people that got there at 7:30 were done by 8:15, so either way you're looking at just shy of an hour one way or the other (at least this particular Friday morning). They had 4-5 lanes going simultaneously. The clerk that helped me was polite, pleasant, not rushing me. Seriously: no complaints at all.

As always.... parking! What a rip-off! The meter took all my coin money before showing the message "no coins, card only", though you cannot swipe a card!!! To add, I'm being charged an additional fee to get the "real" driver's license since this scamming state chose to charge me $28 online to renew my driver's license but without the "stars emblem"! Thanks a lot for the headache and hassle Tennessee!!😡 And the line is moving slower than molasses! I will probably have to come back tomorrow at this rate. It's already 1:30 in the afternoon 🤷🏿♀️

I’m rating 5 stars for Fikisha. She was kind and professional. When I had come in a month prior to transfer my title, I saw another worker and she was.. not great. I got concerned when I noticed several people in front of me get turned away. I had all my paperwork in order, but when it was my turn it was obvious that the worker who saw me found a nonsense reason to not process my title transfer. I was one of at least several people that got turned away by her. We all have to take time off work, pay for parking, wait in line for hours, and structure our day around going to the county clerk. Please have respect for the people in which you serve and be more like Fikisha! Give that woman a raise.

When I tell you this was the BEST experience I have ever had at a government office during my lifelong Memphis residency that would be an understatement. I wish I had gotten the names of all of the individuals that helped me today. I know my experience was not the norm. I went around 2:30PM on 1/12/2026. I was greeted at the door by the most helpful receptionist. She had wonderful recommendations to increase the efficiency of my visit and was extremely knowledgeable, answering all of my questions. She sent me to get my Marriage License first so getting my Real ID would be smoother. The lady assisting me with getting a copy of my marriage license was so fast, courteous, and a wonderful multitasker. I then went back downstairs to get my real ID. I did come prepared with the proper documentation (which I highly recommend). I got an address change and Real ID from the sweetest woman with the most beautiful smile in less than 10 minutes. After getting my real ID (a temporary), I went to the business office to get my Notary Commission and submit my bond. I was in an out, oath of commission included, in 5 minutes. The lady was patient with my multitude of questions, answered all of them, and was extremely polite and positive! Lastly, went downstairs to renew mine and my husband's tags. I renewed the tags and changed out address with a gentleman who despite having a long day took time to listen to everything I had to say, did not interrupt, and provided wonderful feedback and service. I got everything I needed to get done today in about an hour! Thank you so much to the wonderful team at the downtown clerk's office! Wanda might have her problems, but y'all made this the most pleasant experience!
