Came here to get a sticker label for recycling. The white lady there gave me a hard time and failed to provide me one. She asked me if my recycling bin has a lid when already I told her that I am going to buy a recycling bin but not from the town. She said that she is not going to give me the recycling label because I can just make my own label and put it on the container ...oh my gosh really? then why does your town website mention providing each house with recycling label?. I checked out the town website and it mentioned nothing about providing recycling label to only a subset of residents. Sure it is not like she was just giving me a hard time for not buying a recycling box from her...holding double standards for none white residents?. Or it a little bit of both? Does she make commission out of selling recycling containers or something? I do not know. So I had to let someone else in our family to drive to the town hall again to obtain the sticker. And he came back with not just one sticker label but two stickers even though we just needed one label for our one recycling bin. Yes, this is what happened. Disturbing but yes. Shame is on you for being inconsistent! You should treat everyone the same especially if you work for the town.

I have utilized offices of the Town Clerk, the Town Manager, the Health Department, the Engineering Department, the Police Department, the Fire Department, the Assessor, the Treasurer, the School Department, Water Department, Building Inspector, and Library in the 25+ years I have lived here. I went to this place for notary service and was refused for unclear and unreasonable reasons. The staff wasn’t even willing to properly look at the document before declining. As a Shrewsbury resident, I feel disappointed that they refused service for what turned out to be a simple document. I went to another location afterward, and they notarized the same document without any issues. Very disappointing experience.
