FYI the County Clerk, (or County Recorder) and the District Judge (Baccus), are two different people, in two different offices, that have nothing to do with one another. One serves as a Judge for State District Court (You Know: Trials, lawyers, juries, verdicts, sentences, injustice, etc.), while the other serves Taos County residents and the public by issuing licenses, coordinating elections, and as the steward of historical county records (You know: Ballots, land sale deeds, property plats, marriage licenses, vote counting, etc.). How could you not know that before you just go and blast the wrong agency altogether with your "one star"? Hello! That's like going to McDonald's and telling off the manager because they screwed up your order at Taco Bell...In Santa Fe!

The so called "judge" --- Sarah Backus needs to be removed from office. She has clearly violated her oath to this country, it's CITIZENS, and most importantly the constitution. Local New Mexico residents should protest for the resignation of this horrible person ( I can't call her a judge). She needs to also be internally audited and reviewed by outside regulatory bodies --- all of her cases should be up for review -- she is a poison pill in the justice system ( this is leftist activism from the bench) , and thus her cases could fall under " fruit of the poisonous tree". GET HER OUT OF OFFICE!

These idiots just let a bunch of child molesting pedofiles back on the street on a signature bond. What is happening with our justice system? This is why more people are voting red and leaning right! I sincerely hope that the criminals get free gov housing right across from the judges house, maybe she can introduce her kids to them.

Drove from Texas to Toas over night. We were tired, hungry, and eager to get married! They greeted us the moment they opened and had our marriage licenses ready within 10 mins of them opening. We eloped and came back about a week later to file it and the whole office remembered us. They greeted us with smiles and love. They were just as happy for us as our own families. Thanks for making that part of our special day even more special!

Cannot get ahold of anyone at the country clerk office. I have tried to called for 3 weeks and their phones don’t work. Went to the office and the doors are closed. I need to get a marriage license from them and it seems impossible. If anyone has another number to use or there actual house please let me know. Thanks
