It’s not very often that I have a good experience here. The people in the back are always so nice and helpful. The front staff will leave you standing up front while avoiding eye contact with you! One time I came for WIC and they told me I owed a $1..?? Which I was never told why I owed a $1. The next time I came for WIC I turned my folder in to the front office and sat and waited and waited.. One lady stared to lock up all the doors with me sitting inside. I told her I had an appointment and even turned in my WIC folder. The lady proceeded to tell me that they had given my WIC folder and vouchers to someone else.. WOW!!! HIPPA!! This week I had a phone interview for WIC (due to COVID they don’t want to do it in person; which I understand). I received a text saying expect your phone interview at 1PM well I never received my phone interview and here it is two days later.. WOW AGAIN!! I called and left two messages. I also replied to the number that had originally texted me about my appointment and told them the issue and they proceeded to tell me they would tell the WIC department.. well here we are and no call back. Unprofessional for sure!! Update: Almost a week later and still no returned call

No one answers the phone and they don't return phone calls either. They have a "late day" and when you show up 40 mins before closing you are told they are already closing up shop. There was also no one in the waiting room. I told them I drove 2 hours to get there and had to leave work early. Also told them it was urgent and I needed to get a shot. They didn't seem to care. What is the point of having a late day if they are not taking patients 40 minutes before the allotted closing time?

Had my baby in September and they expected me to wait until December for an appointment. I have a newborn baby. Place is ridiculous.

I came here to get some shots before starting my freshman year of college and my experience was wonderful! The nurses were very sweet and after telling them that I have fainted while getting shots before, they made sure to help me feel comfortable and gave me water and some pretzels while they prepared the vaccines. I did end up almost fainting, but the nurse helped me through it until I felt better. I really appreciate their helping me keep calm because getting shots always makes me anxious. The wait was pretty long (about two hours I think?), but I guess you can expect that at almost every healthcare place. The wait is about the same at my normal doctor's office. Overall I would reccomend!

Had to jump on here to give a shout out to the Vital Records office. It is in the same building as the health dept. but is kind of its own entity (they don't have a place to separately review). I didn't get the name of the nice lady (registrar?) who helped me get birth certificates for two of my children, but she was awesome! Very friendly and informative. I was very pleased with my experience and want to give her a shout out for being extremely professional, efficient, and kind. It's rare to have these kinds of interactions at government offices.
