It's a shame I called the Wauwatosa Health Department about getting food poison from cucumbers. As of June 6th, 2024, it was made aware of a cucumber outbreak of salmonella. I was told by a lady from the health department to just drink water. If I left my left information via voice message, there was ample time to know the protocol. She did not tell me to watch for blood in stool, blood in vomit, fever, headache, or any possible side effects. Nor did she ask me any questions. You know when you can hear a lack of concern in a person's voice over the phone. We were on the phone for less than 1 minute. I knew my primary doctor office was going to call back, so I just let it go and continued working. When the nurse did call from my primary office, the 1st thing she said, was do you have time to talk? I'm going to ask you a few questions. She laid it out step by step. We were on the phone for 15 minutes. I commented her explaining and asking me what is wrong with me!!! I had told my nurse that I called the CDC, the restaurant I ate at, and the Wauwatosa Health Department. I was baffled by the lack of expertise and attention I was shown by the Health Department.
