Wrong location, but right address. After having trouble locating actual office location, about 30 minutes, I had no trouble. Had prompt courteous service 5 minutes before closing.

I went into this office on March 11th to purchase SEVEN (7) death certificates, and spent $175 with this office all to find out that the SSN is redacted on all 7 copies. I explained to the person working that day my relationship to the deceased and what they were needed for. I was not told at that time, that since I am not next of kin, the SSN would redacted. I called this morning, explained the situation and obviously I am upset that I've spent nearly $200 on death certificates that practically serve no purpose. I spoke with a manager, Jessica, who was VERY verbally rude and said she was "matching energy" when she fails to realize, $175 is a LOT of money to not communicate that if you are not next of kin, the SSN is automatically redacted. Jessica needs an attitude adjustment because the way I was talked too was LESS than professional. There's a way to handle an upset caller and the way I was spoken too? Nope. Not sure if it's a Youngstown thing or what, but I don't tolerate disrespect and rudeness. If you don't like your job, Jessica, QUIT and find a job you like. You'll live a much better life. Update as of 04/30/24- I ended up having to contact Erin Bishop, who is over the Vital Statistics office, to get a resolution. Jessica made it her job to make this process as difficult as she could. When I got to the office, they replaced all of the remaining certificates for FREE. Make sure you clarify the SSN will be on the certificate, should you need one. Otherwise, they'll redact it and not tell you. Also, Jessica lied to me about a form I supposedly signed. There was no form signed, so she lied to save her butt. I think Erin and any of Jessica's superiors may want to rethink her job. She is not for government work. I will make sure none of my family dies in Mahoning Co. going forward because this was an incredibly difficult process, and it didn't need to be.
