They didn't provide me with a zip code in the email sent. My son had a name amendment done, I don't understand why I have to write it in. Why couldn't I fax it or scan it and email the court order. My son needs this for the military and time is sensitive. I just wish they could catch up with the 21st century and let things be done electronically. It's going to take 2 or 3 weeks before this gets processed and he still needs his SS card and state ID. But customer service on the phone was nice, but lacking information.

They sent out the birth certificate to a wrong address and don’t even apologize. Been waiting for 8 weeks now. How stupid can you to be to misspell the address?

Can anyone tell me if I show up at the Albany vital statistics with documentation can I get my birth certificate With a raised seal the same day? it is extremely important to get this birth certificate to get the real ID in order to travel for a family emergency the Albany vital statistics has no live person to speak to and they are saying that in order to process for a birth certificate. It will be 140 some days this is unacceptable. How is someone supposed to travel if they don’t have their real ID. According to the Internet for Albany vital statistics it says that it takes up to two weeks for birth certificate. They are telling me three weeks ago. It will take until December 11. I have travel plans earlier than December.

I have a Passport and Enhanced license which require a birth certificate to get. This office said I need to buy a copy of my birth certificate in order to buy a copy of my mother's death certificate. Thanks to this office for making things painfully difficult and traumatic

I ordered my certificate through Vitalchek they said order will arrive with 7 to 10 business days. Day 8 I called it hadn't been processed. I call Albany directly the lady very nicely took my info, even emailed me 2 days later stating it was picked up from her office by usps, I should have it in 7 to 10 business days. Here it is 18 days later, still nothing received. I called the postmaster and they said 2 digit difference in zip code, it should have taken at most 3 days to get to me!! Going down to demand a copy in the morning. Oh how the government messes with people's lives. Unacceptable!!!
