I had the most terrible experience of my life at the health department. IF YOU LEGIT NEED MENTAL HEALTH DO NOT GO TO THAT PLACE OR 111 LOCATION. I was in the crisis center twice this week. Had An actual appt with the actual psychiatrist. Right before I went in there to talk to the psychiatrist I told the nurse jokingly "watch they're not going to listen to me because I take methadone" && that's exactly what happened!!! They completely disregarded EVERYTHING I was saying && I had a literal panic attack in their office && they just sat there STARING AT ME saying NOTHING. So I had to walk away to try to calm down. I asked if they could put me back on my anxiety meds that I stopped taking when I was pregnant && they absolutely REFUSED. They blamed the methadone. I know it's because they thought I was drug seeking or something that was the ENTIRE vibe I got && the way they treated me while I was in a full blown panic attack in front of them was mind blowing. I had to walk out. I ended up going to the emergency room at central dupage which I regret even more because my experiences at that hospital have been horrible JUST like yesterday. SO then I go to the primary on my insurance card whom I've never even met && once again NO HELP!!! The doctor office did give me a referral to another place that's not that crap health department. I cannot believe these people can get away with treating people (not medically treating them correct) && judging them because of current medications they take. They kept saying no they weren't judging me && that wasn't the reason but, every single time I asked why can I not get my anxiety meds back their response was the methadone && that anxiety meds are addicting like duh I know I've been prescribed them in the past && ONLY stopped because I got pregnant but, I'm not dumb I know that's why I didn't receive any help today or the last 2 times this week at the crisis center. I called it right before I talk to the psychiatrist. I literally told the nurse that sees you beforehand "watch they'll see my current meds && won't help me." && that's exactly what happened. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Once again I'm sitting here with a racing mind at 1am cannot sleep, all because some people at that health department would rather judge me instead of help me!!! Rant over && I hope this makes sense && can help someone in the future to NOT even waste your time. They didn't listen. They don't listen. They just repeat themselves. They couldn't even help me during a full blown panic attack in their office. They just let me walk out and not care once bit. That should tell you everything you need to know. Just a very horrible place in general. One of the most terrible experiences at a "Heath department/doctor office place in my life!!!

Walked in for birth certificate for my newborn baby. It was so straightforward and seamless that I was done in less than 5 min. Take the required documents and you’ll be taken care of. The staff here are polite, best at the work they do and respect your time.

Brought my kiddos here when they were in crisis. Thanks to everyone who helped them in their time of need. I will reccommend the children's pod to my friends and family.

Don’t go here if you are in crisis i was only here for a night because of how unwell it was run the intake lady never looked me in the eye never made me feel like i was making the right decision. Then when i got into the recpit program i had to ask 3 times to meet with counselor while most of them sat on there laptops laughing or having loud conversations with each other. The group meetings were supposed to be an hr long each time and they were only 20 min at the most. It’s obvious they just don’t care from the staff up front to the supervisors in the back to the counselors who are supposed to help in crisis DONT GO HERE find somewhere else that is professional and truly care about your outcome

The dental assistant is very rude, she doesn't want to be patient with us when we come in for work, my husband speaks broken English and I need to help him understand what going on, she tells me to have a seat and she has even closed the door in my face. She needs to retire if she dosnt like her job.
