Just visited today (less than an hour ago) to renew my passport on my day off. I was helped by a nice lady named Alma who seemed to be pleased to provide service whatever it was that I needed. She let me know that I had to complete the form by mail. But gave me the form, told me that the Walgreens passport photos I got weren’t acceptable (advised I get my money back) and retook them for me. Not only that, but when I told her I was afraid I would do something wrong on my own (I have a bit of anxiety) she offered to staple the photos and passport to the application form in the correct places, I didn’t have to ask her to, which was very sweet. Then she reminded me the things that are often forgotten on mail in forms (“Don’t forget to sign and date here”). The man who helped me with the ticket was nice also as I was visibly confused regarding where to go. I did not get his name! The environment was quiet and relaxed and probably the best experience I’ve ever had at any county clerks office! They should have a tip jar. When I got out, I had a parking ticket violation (didn’t realize where I parked was a handicapped spot) but the experience I just had made everything else today much less stressful! Being pleasant and not hating your job goes a long way! I would assume that other workers there are just as pleasant because it was just a pleasant place.

Mr Kendall- Times have changed and being a grumpy old guy I’m not a big fan of bureaucracies, That is until today. I took my freshly 16 yr old grandson to get his learners permit. I was ready for all kind of issues having been born and raised in Dutchess County! Anyway, we got to your a millbrook office and were called promptly at our scheduled time by a Clerk named Jaimie. She was an absolute delight and got us through the entire procedure with personality/professionalism and great style!! Thank you so much Mr Kendall!! Bob Holden

My family needs new passports. The process from beginning to end was a very pleasant experience: 1. I wrote an email to the office and got return email immediately, which is a surprise compare to my experience with a different office in NYC, which gave me reply after a couple of month! 2. The first day I went there, there wasn't a long line. I was at the form desk, a gentleman who looks like the clerk himself (he dressed quite formal, therefore the guess) passed by, immediately asked if I need help, so nice. 3. I especially want to appraise the lady at window 2: Josephine. She was very nice, warm hearted and helpful. Although the office doesn't take passport renewal, she gave me all of the information I need to mail the application myself the first time I went. I returned to the same window the next business day with all of the documentations. She processed my son's application, and even reviewed mine and my husband's applications, remind me where I missed, put everything in order for me. 4. For the two trips I made to the office for the application. From the lady at the entrance to all of the workers in the lobby, everybody seems very friendly. Good work ladies and gentlemen, and the leadership of the county clerk office. Thank you all!

Acts of kindness were much appreciated! Mr Kendall did not hesitate w/ tools and toil to help me remove my old license plate and put on my new ones when I lost one of my plates on a drive from Maryland to NY. And then....Melody was wonderfully pleasant and kind as I drove out of parking area. Great experience, TY TY TY!
