Today I applied for the passports for my three kids here. This is my third time to apply, it was always a post office before. Putnam county clerk office is best place to apply: they take great photos, make copies, no wait just make an appointment.

Went to Putnam County clerks office on August 21,2019. I had to file a series of documents but wasn’t sure of the process. I was sent to as I recall room 102? The lady behind the counter was named Joyce, who was extremely helpful, courteous and answered every one of my questions. I even had to call her later with a follow up question. Again she was gracious and helpful.

After giving up finding passport application appointments for my kids in NYC, because of nasty post office employees, this was a refreshing surprise. I easily found an appointment, they treated my kids so nicely giving the honorary county clerk seals, and dealt with us with a smile and expediency. I will be returning here despite living 50 minutes away.

The clerks office, assessors office, land records, office, real property office, and any other office. You encounter at Carmel town in New York, have the nastiest people you will ever encounter for such a beautiful town. They are the nastiest. I hope to never have to live there again they all seem to feel they’re better than everybody else. I can’t even be bothered to speak with you in person or on the phone except for the clark she’s very nice

They are VERY tedious. I went to record a deed and the lady there refused to record it the first time because the description on the deed was the same description I got when I got my deed! Totally ridiculous. She said only the county can have this description. She rejected the deed and put there I needed a metes and bound description. This is totally ridiculous. I am an investor and record deeds at other counties and I never had a problem with the description the way it was. The lady just wanted to give me a hard time. I am sure she records other deeds the way I had it. She was just being difficult. And when I went today to record the same deed again after I had the metes and bounds description done, the other person there said "the deed's date does not match the date of the transfer documents." She was also trying to give me a hard time. I don't understand why they are not trained properly and don't give people a hard time. Their job there which as tax payers pay for their salary, their job is to provide a service which is to record documents not to decide whether a deed needs to have metes and bound description. I should had contacted the Clerk directly about this to tell him what is going. I should not had to redo the deed again. TERRIBLE SERVICE AND NASTY PEOPLE THERE
